The two met online and wanted to see each other face to face after chatting for a short period of time.They decided to meet last Sunday at an apartment on Pine Chapel Road in Hampton just after p.m.But after talking to her new online friend for a few minutes, a 19-year-old Newport News woman was robbed and sexually assaulted, according to police.Curtis Asmar Mc Kenzie, 29, demanded the woman's money after the two had a brief conversation once inside the apartment, said Hampton police spokeswoman Cpl. Mc Kenzie pulled out a knife and threw the victim to the ground, stabbing her several times in both arms before sexually assaulting her, police said. In the process, she was cut multiple times on both her arms, a hand and a foot.She was able to free herself from the suspect and flee the apartment, Quinones said.Mc Kenzie took her cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the apartment, police said.
Officers found Mc Kenzie, of Ridley Circle, lying in a ditch in the area of Saville Row and Pine Chapel Road.
The apartment that the two met in was vacant, according to Quinones, who said the suspect broke out a rear window to enter the apartment.
Mc Kenzie is listed as a sex offender on the Virginia State Police Web site.
He is considered violent, according to the site, and is currently on probation.
In 2001, Mc Kenzie was found guilty of attempted rape.
